MADRID INTERVENTION
An urban strategy for the Lavapies area in Madrid
Designed by Robert Devir, Ola Keijer, Ren Horng Yee and Audun Hellemo
The intervention is a strategy that seeks to keep the exisiting diversity by offering tools that might make the current program more feasible, or rearrange the existing program in a way that allows for change caused by new or old tenants. As the city changes, only those who can answer back and change with it will survive. The strategy is meant to be an open structure based on both site specific and more generic physical interventions- The different physical interventions are meant to answer to both changes caused by the system itself, as well as outside forces acting on the site.
The strategy is a follow up of the Madrid Study
The project is originally presented as an interactive website which will be online at the Urban Body Website.
