INTERIOR DESIGN
Designed by: Sigrid Arntzen, Gro Hermstad, Frøydis Pedersen, Katrine Falch Olsen, Eskild Andersen and Audun Hellemo
We were asked to design the entrance room for a museum for Japanese art and design, with the stair between ground floor and first floor as the main element. We designed a glass stair with concrete platforms connected to steel profiles, both to indicate stepping stones - the platforms, and the Japanese way of dividing faces - play of shadow on the steel profiles. In the room we exhibited modern Japanese photography, a black marble sculpture and sand gardens.
Teacher's comment:
Barbara: "This project has really many qualities."
Ingulv: "A beautiful project esthetically, but the technical drawings are lame."
