TOKYO WORKSHOP
As a followup to the Teahouse-workshop in Trondheim october 2002, the norwegian gang went to Japan to participate in the Noh-workshop, initiated by students from Tokyo University. We spent the first week in Tokyo doing the design for three different noh-stages; modern interpretations of the traditional japanese noh stage. During the designphase we investigated traditional noh stage in Yokohama, watched several performances, travelled by nightbus to look at the site, discussed with Professor Naito of Tokyo University, Kanada-san of Arup Japan and of course Tsumura-sensei who brought us into the deeper world of Noh. After one week of intensive design sessions (and discussions), we presented the final designs before doing sightseeing around the Tokyo area. And then went by new nightbus to do the construction phase at Awaji-shima.
