AWAJI WORKSHOP
Following the Tokyo workshop we went to stay in a huge house in Awaji Island, half an hour from Kobe. We spent two extremely hot weeks doing the construction from around 8:00 every morning until sunset around 18:00, interrupted by the daily bath at lunchtime. Not too bad when the pacific is only about 50m from the house. We had a few parties, a press conference, a few trips to surrounding architectural highlights and a lot of digging, sawing and joking before the three stages finally were ready. Around 500 people showed up for the performance led by Noh actor Reijiro Tsumura and his fellow actors, which only can be desribed as a success. And who would have thought that the Shojou stage actually could take 50 people dancing like crazy?
